In All-Star Batman #1, Scott Snyder introduced a new concept that he says has
been there all along called The Cursed Wheel. He established that the
Bat-family, including Dick Grayson, Barbara Gordon and Damian, have all gone
through the wheel, whether they knew it or not. Each color has a different
meaning and with it a different lesson. Snyder set up that everyone has a
specific color-Dick Grayson’s is blue, Barbara Gordon’s is blue and Damian’s is
green. The Cursed Wheel was introduced in the back-up stories Snyder and Declan
Shalvey are telling. That story has Batman and Duke Thomas investigating a
serial killing by knife that appears to involve Victor Zsasz. According to
Snyder the back-up stories are setting up Two-Face's attack on Gotham. The story
will also reveal Duke’s place on the color wheel. The back up tales will run
through All-Star Batman for the first 15 issues. During those issues we will see
where Batman became more aware of how he was trained and how that gave him an
idea of how to train others. Snyder says that Batman puts himself through the
training program every few years to hone his skills. The back-up stories are
likely to lead to a Duke Thomas solo title. |
