The tenth season of Doctor Who is on the way and here is what we know so far:
comedian Matt Lucas will be a regular on the series alongside the new companion
Pearl Mackie. Lucas was seen in the Christmas special…Peter Capaldi will appear
in the first episode of the spin-off series Class which will be set at the often
seen Coal Hill School…showrunner Steven Moffat says that season seven was his
worst season ever since he had to work on Sherlock, deal with Matt Smith leaving
and having to do the 50th anniversary special without any of the previous
Doctors contracted to appear in it…Moffat will leave the series after season ten
and Broadchurch’s Chris Chibnall will helm season eleven…Christopher Eccleston
recently revealed that he now regrets leaving the series after thirteen episodes
due to disagreements with management at the BBC. He told 774 ABC Melbourne’s
Drive: “It was kind of tragic for me, that I didn’t play him for longer. He’s a
beautiful character and I have a great deal of professional pride and had I done
a second season, there would have been a marked improvement in my performance. I
was learning new skills, in terms of playing light comedy. I was not known for
light comedy and, again, production did not allow for that.” |
