GSP IS BACK Posted: 030717
After many delays UFC president Dana White made Georges St-Pierre‘s return to the Octagon official. St-Pierre last fought in November of 2013 after he defended and retained his UFC welterweight championship. He never said he was done and had been in negotiations with former UFC owner Lorenzo Fertitta in 2016. He would have fought current UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping but when UFC was sold to WME-IMG for about $4.2 billion negotiations ended. White had been saying that GSP wasn’t coming back but things have changed. GSP could face the winner of the Tyron Woodley and Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson fight at UFC 209 or Bisping. He could also fight at 155 pounds. Georges St-Pierre’s coach says a fight with Conor McGregor would also work. Since Bisping is currently out with a knee injury and McGregor is trying to fight Floyd Mayweather neither of those are happening soon.
