After losing such talent such as Rick Remender, Ed Brubaker, Sean Phillips, Matt
Fraction, Kelly Sue DeConnick, Jamie McKelvie, Jonathan Hickman and a few others
while sharing Jeff Lemire, Jason Latour, Nick Spencer, Mark Millar, Warren Ellis
and Kieron Gillen Marvel has begun a move to bring a lot of these creators back.
Working at Marvel allowed those creators to do their own books for Image which
when everything is said and done actually pays them more. Marvel has nailed down
most of the big name artists but not a fair share of the big writers. That’s
about to change in a major way starting next year. Marvel has worked out deals
with major names to work on their biggest titles in 2018 and all are quietly
working on projects now so as to avoid any delays due to the schedules of the
talent. All of these books will be on the racks at the same time Deadpool 2,
Black Panther, Avengers Infinity War, New Mutants and a Spider-Man animated
movie arrive in theaters. Marvel Editor In Chief Axel Alonso is already teasing
an image that shows the Hulk in a glass tank with Wolverine’s claws protruding
from his hands with the words Batch H written on it. |
