Did His Relationship With JBL Cause the Split?

Mauro Ranallo missed one Smackdown show supposedly due to bad weather but when he started missing more shows after that people started asking questions. He has always been honest about his battles with depression and talks about it on his Twitter account but fans and friends were wondering why he was going through it again. Then stories started to surface about issues between him and JBL, who has had a reputation for being a bully. There were comments on air coming from JBL that were obvious shots at Ranallo even after he had missed a few shows. And now the WWE and Ranallo have decided to part ways. He has reached a settlement with the WWE and will not return to the company. He is still under contract until the middle of August but will not appear on WWE television ever again. The reasons why he wasn’t around brought back a lot of stories about JBL bullying talent going back to when he threw the Miz out of the locker room. Former ring announcer Justin Roberts talks about JBL acting like an ass towards him multiple times. WWE was trying to claim that the bullying wasn’t why Ranallo wasn’t on TV but Newsweek was about to release a major story on the situation and so WWE decided to settle. Once the settlement was announced it included this statement from Mauro, "WWE and I have mutually agreed to part ways. It has nothing to do with JBL." Ranallo can do anything he wants until 8/12 as long as it doesn’t have anything to do with pro wrestling. Since the settlement was announced Ranallo did do color commentary for the MMA promotion Rizin.
