CROSSING GENERATIONS

The first time we heard about this was a huge poster drawn by Alex Ross showing almost everyone in the Marvel Universe. Then we heard the poster involved something called Generations. Now we know what it all means-a crossover of 10 characters/titles which will pair classic heroes with the younger characters who have taken up their names. Generations will begin in July and run until September during the Secret Empire event. Marvel has revealed the writers of the stories. They include: Brian Michael Bendis who is writing Iron Man (Tony Stark and Riri Williams) and Spider-Man (Peter Parker and Miles Morales); G. Willow Wilson will take on Ms. Marvel (Carol Danvers and Kamala Khan); Jason Aaron will tell of Thor (Odinson and Jane Foster); Kelly Thompson will deal with Hawkeye (Clint Barton and Kate Bishop); Greg Pak does Hulk (Bruce Banner and Amadeus Cho); Dennis Hopeless will take on Jean Grey (young and older); Tom Taylor tells the tale of Wolverine (Logan and X23); Margie Stohl will deal with Captain Marvel (Mar-Vell and Carol Danvers) and Nick Spencer will handle Captain America (Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson). According to Marvel Editor-In-Chief Axel Alonso, "We are looking to honor the legacy of the entire universe, so we are taking the iconic legacy heroes and pairing them with the new class. It very much indicates where we are going in the future with all of these characters and what we've been planning for some time for the universe." Of course some of these characters happen to be dead but Alonso says that they have an "ingenious device" to make these stories happen and it doesn’t use time travel or alternate realities. The stories will take place in current continuity. There have been rumors around for a while that Marvel was going to bring their legacy characters back and this event is likely a path to doing so.
