BATMAN GOES METAL Posted: 053117
Now that we know that the Batman event from Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo is called Dark Nights: Metal there are hints on what the event is about. Snyder says he has been dropping hints about the event ever since he and Capullo teamed up. Hints have also been dropped in other DC titles. The biggest clues were dropped in the Batman Superheavy arc. In Batman #45 in a meeting with Jim Gordon and Geri Powers, current president of Powers International we learned that the company was looking and had found new elements. One was dense enough that a small chunk weighed two tons. The other three new elements were a secret but suggested that they were capable of creating new realities. Batman #49 showed Bruce seeing different versions of himself as Batman. Snyder has hinted that this will be an important part of the Dark Days one-shots. This means that some Grant Morrison concepts will have a part in the event. One of those concepts will be Batman, Inc. The event is also likely to mark the return of the Jim Gordon suit but with others wearing versions of them. The new version of the Blackhawk Squadron is rumored to be involved in Metal also. And finally the event will involve the return of Hawkman since DC has revealed that the Nth Metal that he uses is part of Dark Days. In the recent The Death of Hawkman limited series Hawkman died but Adam Strange ended up thrown into something undefined. Wonder Woman and Green Lantern will be seen in the event at least in the initial issues.
