DEFINITION OF THE PARKER LUCK Posted: 061217
Things are pretty good for Peter Parker most of the time. He owns the very successful Parker Industries and his life is about perfect save for two things-the returns of Norman Osborn and Otto Octavius, who now calls himself the Superior Octopus. The fact that Silver Sable has returned from her supposed death in the 2012 arc Ends of the Earth doesn’t help much either. Writer Dan Slott reminded fans that we never saw Silver Sable die and that it happened off panel. So if Rhino was able to return in The Clone Conspiracy he figured why not do the same for Sable? Mockingbird will join Peter in his latest adventure and Slott says their connection is likely to become a personal and professional one since the two share similar backgrounds. The duo will be on the hunt for a Norman Osborn not driven by the Goblin Serum but still with the same hatred of Spider-Man. He’s not crazy anymore and that may give him an advantage this time around. After that fight then the following arc will tie into Secret Empire and deal with the Superior Octopus. Slott had always planned to bring him back so he kept giving us a different incarnation of Otto Octavius to get to this version. The arc will have Otto work with Hydra since they both have the same goal as long as he gets what he wants. Otto has his brain but some of Spider-Man’s powers. Slott says that after both arcs are over a lot will be different in the world of Peter Parker.
