The Dark Multiverse is Coming

Now that Dark Days: The Forge has shipped (061417) we know a whole lot more about the "Dark" storyline. The tease for Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo’s Dark Nights: Metal has begun and it will involve Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman and the entire Justice League. The event will use aspects of Rebirth, the Button, the Green Lantern titles and a lot more. It sets up the new Dark Matter books and sets the tone for the next two years of the DCU. Since the announcement of the event more details have been released including introducing the Dark Multiverse. Snyder says that just because he’s using Dark a lot the books will not be dark at all but involve battle armor, dinosaurs, robots, Batman with a guitar and bizarre team-ups. We already knew that the event will bring Hawkman back and use Nth Metal, the substance from the planet Thanagar. And we have learned that a member of the Justice League will be the person who discovers then opens a whole to the Dark Multiverse. Metal will reintroduce some characters to the DCU that haven’t been seen for a while and reveal that this has been set up during the 2011-2015 Batman run by Snyder and Capullo. And yes, the Joker will be involved in a key role. In other Snyder news he recently revealed that his upcoming All Star Batman arc with Sean Murphy may be his last “proper Batman story for a while.”
