Marvel has released the names of all the creators working on the Generations
limited series. Generations will pair off current incarnations of Marvel
characters with the previous versions of the characters. The ten one-shots are:
Generations: The Strongest (Bruce Banner and Amadeus Cho from Greg Pak and
Matteo Buffagni); Generations: The Phoenix (The Phoenix and Jean Grey from
Cullen Bunn and RB Silva); Generations: The Best (Wolverine and All-New
Wolverine from Tom Taylor and Ramon Rosanas); Generations: The Thunder (Mighty
Thor and Unworthy Thor from Jason Aaron and Mahmud Asrar): Generations: The
Archers (Clint Barton and Kate Bishop from Kelly Thompson and Stefano Raffaele):
Generations: The Bravest (Captain Mar-Vell and Captain Marvel from Margie Stohl
and Brent Schoonover): Generations: The Marvels (Captain Marvel and Ms. Marvel
from G. Willow Wilson): Generations: The Iron (Iron Man and Ironheart from Brian
Michael Bendis and Marco Rudy); Generations: The Spiders (Peter Parker:
Spider-Man and Miles Morales: Spider-Man from Bendis and Ramon Perez) and
Generations: The Americas (Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson from Nick Spencer and
Paul Renaud). Marvel hasn’t exactly said how some of these team ups are possible
since some of the characters are dead and one is a Hydra agent but even though
Axel Alonso said time travel wasn’t involved it seems to be. And from the new
Marvel solicits for August it’s now known that Apocalypse is involved in some
capacity. Each one-shot will be 40 pages and cost $4.99. Once Generations is
done then Marvel is releasing a massive one-shot called Marvel Legacy #1 from
Jason Aaron and Esad Ribic. The one-shot will have a four-panel foldout cover by
Joe Quesada and start a revamp of the Marvel line. The revamp will have classic
titles go back to their original numbering and get a special trade dress. It
will bring back the Marvel Value Stamp, the 1970s fan magazine FOOM and cover
corner-box art. We will see after Legacy the returns of Tony Stark, the fall of
Peter Parker and Parker Industries, a return to Planet Hulk and oh, yes the
return of the Fantastic Four. This may also tie in to the rumor that a fair
amount of big name creators are coming back to Marvel with a stockpile of issues
already in the can. |
