Former Vertigo editors Shelly Bond and Karen Berger
are in charge of two new imprints. Shelly Bond’s IDW Publishing imprint Black
Crown has announced their first titles. This October will debut Kid Lobotomy
from Peter Milligan and Tess Fowler. December will mark the debut of
Assassinsitas from Tini Howard and Gilbert Hernandez. January will bring Punks
Not Dead from David Barnett and Martin Simmonds. The imprint will also include a
new magazine called The Black Crown Quarterly. Karen Berger’s Dark Horse imprint
Berger Books is as of this moment four titles: Hungry Ghosts (from Anthony
Bourdain, Joel Rose, Vanesa Del Rey, Leo Manco, Alberto Ponticelli, Paul Pope
and Mateus Santolouco), Incognegro: Renaissance (by Mat Johnson and Warren
Pleece) is a prequel to the 2008 Vertigo graphic novel Incognegro: A Graphic
Mystery, the five-issue limited series Mata Hari (from Emma Beeby and Ariela
Kristantina) and the four-issue limited series The Seeds (from Ann Nocenti and
David Aja). Berger Books will also reprint Dave Gibbons’ The Originals. There
will be more titles added to the mix later this year. |
