REEVES HAS A PLAN Posted: 100817
With War for the Planet of the Apes out of the theaters and ready for a DVD/Blu-ray release director Matt Reeves is focused totally on The Batman. He tossed out the script from Ben Affleck, DC chief Geoff Johns and Argo’s Chris Terrio to write his own film. His vision for the film will have a noir feel told from Batman’s POV. As for a follow-up film he says it may be possible but he wants the first film in the can before planning sequels. The Apes films weren’t planned out the way they ended up and the story for Dawn wasn’t the story the studio wanted at all. And for all concerned Affleck is still doing the film. Reeves recently cleared up some confusion about him suggesting the film would not be a part of the larger DC Extended Universe. It is. What he meant is that The Batman will have no cameos from other heroes.
