cancelled Sense8 after two seasons but the pornography hub xHamster has offered
to take over production of the series. Alex Hawkins, xHamster vice president,
wrote to Lilly and Lana Wachowski in an open letter to plead the site’s case:
“We’re not talking about a parody or something less than, but an actual revival
of the series. xHamster is currently one of the most trafficked websites on the
internet. We get more visitors daily than The New York Times, ESPN or the Daily
Mail. In short, we have the eyeballs, and the revenue. Unlike with Netflix, you
wouldn’t be competing for part of our production budget – it would be yours.” In
an interview with GQ, Hawkins said the level of explicit content would be up to
the filmmakers. If his offer isn’t taken up then the two hour movie finale of
the series will be written by Lana J. Wachowski, Cloud Atlas’ David Mitchell and
MacArthur grant-winning Bosnian writer Aleksandar Hemon. The finale will take
place in Berlin, Brussels, Paris and Naples. |
