Marvel Comics has named C.B. Cebulski their new Editor-in Chief effective immediately. He will be replacing Axel Alonso who has been EIC since January 2011. The move was an amicable one worked out between Alonso and Marvel. Cebulski has been at Marvel for the last 15 years and was serving as VP, Marvel Brand Management and Development, Asia. He has moved from Shanghai to New York City. He will be helped in his new job by Marvel’s Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada who had the EIC job before Alonso. Quesada decided to get his hand back into the publishing part of Marvel after working on Marvel TV, projects he can’t reveal just yet and creating ride concepts for Disney. He has made it clear that he will not step on Cebulski’s toes and let him clear out his own path.
