Captain Marvel, aka
Carol Danvers, is one of the strongest heroes in the Marvel Universe. She has a
power set that makes her a physical match to any villain she comes up against
but her greatest strength comes from her experiences in the Air Force and NASA,
which makes her a formidable leader. At the present she doesn’t have an ongoing
series but in July readers will get the five-issue limited series The Life of
Captain Marvel, from Margaret Stohl, Carlos Pacheco and Marguerite Sauvage. The
series will show Carol’s past as she fights a threat from the present. The
series will take place in a small town in Maine where her brother worked as a
fisherman. When the story begins Carol is having panic attacks that she can’t
explain. Tony Stark, a man who has had incidents from his past affect his life
tells her to take a leave from the Avengers to try to figure out what’s going
on. That is what takes her to the summer home in Maine her family owned where
she ends up having to face off against a new but not so new villain. The
supporting cast will include her only living brother and her mom but Carol’s dad
and other brother along with people Carol has known for a long time. Pacheco
will draw the present day scenes and Sauvage will draw the flashbacks.
It all begins with LIFE OF CAPTAIN MARVEL #1 which is currently scheduled to ship
