More
talent has joined the Amazon subsidiary comiXology since last year. At Comic-Con
International in San Diego four new series were announced and are already
available on the comiXology and Amazon’s platforms. New projects include: the
five-issue series Goliath Girls by Sam Humphries and Alti Firmansyah, Tim Seeley
and Mike Norton’s Grave Danger, the internet-based anthology Hit Reblog from
Editor Hope Nicholson with cartoonist Megan Kearney and the five-issue series
Teenage Wasteland from Mags Visaggio and Jen Vaughn. Later on this year we get
the OGN The Dark by Mark Sable and Kristian Donaldson, Delver by C Spike Trotman,
MK Reed and Tish Doolin and The Stone King by Kel McDonald and Tyler Crook.
Goliath Girls has been described as "Pitch Perfect meets Pacific Rim." It is
already available in Japan. Grave Danger is about a woman raised by vampires and
a set of ten DVD tapes out fighting the supernatural. Hit Reblog is a collection
of viral internet comics. Teenage Wasteland tells the story of a new kid in
school with a twist. The Dark will show the world after a globally devastating
cyber attack. Delver is the story about the people who live with the results of
fringe sci-fi and fantasy monsters that are set loose into the wild. The Stone
King has just been described as an adventure story. All of the comics could be
turned into film and TV projects for Amazon Prime. |
