HOGAN RETURNS Posted: 082718
Hulk Hogan has been reinstated into the WWE Hall of Fame after a three-year suspension for racially charged comments caught on tape. The announcement was made the day before the Extreme Rules pay-per-view. He was given the opportunity to talk to the roster before Extreme Rules to apologize for his comments and they were taken well by some but others were reluctant to accept his apology. Hogan told the talent that they had to be very aware that there are always cameras everywhere and they could be recorded even when they don't realize it. The New Day issued a joint statement on Hogan's reinstatement into WWE HOF that placed them on the indifferent side since they do not own the WWE. The statement makes it clear that it’s up to Hogan to prove he has changed to them and they aren’t going to waste any energy thinking about it. There was a rumor that Titus O'Neil walked out of Extreme Rules due to Hogan being there but it wasn’t true. He wasn’t happy with the apology at all because he didn’t buy it as being sincere. He didn’t buy the claim Hogan didn’t know he was being recorded. Mark Henry told TMZ that he thought Hogan was genuine about wanting to clear his name and will help him fix things if asked. According to Hogan the repair of the rift started with a text from HHH which led to talking with Vince McMahon. Hogan says the initial idea was for him to just talk to the black athletes on the roster but he wanted to talk to everyone.
