Hit-Girl has gone global.
Mindy McCready just left Canada in a Jeff Lemire and Eduardo Risso arc and has
more cities to travel to. Millarworld editor Rachael Fulton will send her to
Rome (Rafael Albuquerque and Rafael Scavone), Hong Kong (Daniel Way and Goran
Parlov), Hollywood (Kevin Smith) and Peter Milligan and Alison Sampson will send
her to India. Fulton says Hit-Girl’s vigilante world tour was set up way back at
the end of Kick-Ass 3, when Dave Lizewski hung up his costume. She had to reason
to stop serving justice and the Millar folks wanted to have different writers
tell her various missions. There were rules set for the creative teams: the
locations had to be realistic, Mindy doesn’t age and there should be no sexual
threat to Mindy ever. The threats so far have been different with each arc. And
each arc has shown a different look for Mindy. The upcoming Rafael Albuquerque
and Rafael Scavone arc is a heist story. The Daniel Way/Goran Parlov arc is set
in Hong Kong because Mark Millar wanted Hit-Girl to explore the city and give
readers living there a story set in their home country. The Smith Hollywood set
arc doesn’t have an artist yet but Smith has turned in the scripts for the first
three issues. |
