 The
Freedom Fighters will return in a 12-isssue limited series from Robert Venditti
and Eddy Barrows this winter. The team of Human Bomb, Black Condor, Doll Woman
and Phantom Lady based on Earth-X, where America has lived under the rule of the
Nazi regime since we lost World War II. The idea for the limited series came out
of Venditti doing a graphic novel from Vertigo called Six Days about the D-Day
invasion his uncle was involved in. He decided to look at the other side and
have the US lose so he could examine that world. It will take elements of the
Multiversity one shot and add to it. The series will begin on November 22, 1963,
the day of the JFK assassination but JFK was never president on Earth-X so we
see how things would be different. The team of Black Condor, the Human Bomb,
Doll Woman and Phantom Lady will get different histories. Uncle Sam is missing
in action so the team thinks that if the can show a strong resistance he will
return to help them. They will face new and old villains. In this world Plastic
Man was captured by the Nazis and they removed his DNA, his ability to shape
shift. Doing so allows them to create a force of covert agents called the
PlaSStic Men, who could literally be anybody. So you would never know if anyone
was who they appeared to be. Cities are patrolled by giant walking robots called
the Bozos, who maintain the peace.
