 Archie’s
companion series to Riverdale The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina can currently
be found on Netflix and not The CW. The streaming service ordered two seasons to be shot
back-to-back before the first season debuted. Season One shows Sabrina struggle to reconcile being
half-witch and half-mortal as she protects her family and the world from the
forces of evil. Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa wrote the pilot for
the series. Mad Men’s Kiernan Shipka plays Sabrina and Perfect
Strangers’ Bronson Pinchot plays George Hawthorne, the principal of
her high school. 24: Legacy’s Miranda Otto plays Sabrina’s Aunt Zelda, Lucy
Davis her Aunt Hilda, Chance Perdomo is her warlock cousin Ambrose, Michelle
Gomez as Mrs. Wardell (aka Madam Satan), and Jaz Sinclair as best friend
Rosalind Walker. At first it was thought that Riverdale and Sabrina would
crossover but it has been made clear that it will not. The series takes place in
the town of Greendale, however there are three references to Archie Andrews home
town peppered through out Season One. Considering the tone of both series, a
crossover eventually would seem possible. |
