Ethan Sacks and Robert Gill will show the future of Star Lord in
the 12-issue limited series Old Man Quill. The story will reunite Quill, who is
when the story takes place the failed emperor of Spartax reunites with the
Guardians of the Galaxy for one last job. The location for the series is the
Wasteland, where we have seen the futures of Logan and Hawkeye. Sacks loves the
Mark Millar/Steve McNiven decade long concept and wants to do more stories in
the setting. In the Wasteland most of the heroes are dead and the villains are
in charge but find that getting what you wanted doesn’t always work out. When
the story begins Quill hasn’t been around the Guardians for a few decades but
they find they need him to stop a galactic force from destroying what's left of
the universe. The mission takes them to Earth but it’s not exactly the Earth
they were expecting. Quill was always a lighter character but in this series he
will be haunted and more like he was when Steve Englehart created him in 1976.
Sacks says that during the series we will see Ashley, Hawkeye's estranged
daughter and Spider-Man's grand-daughter.
It all begins with OLD MAN QUILL #1 which ships with three standard covers
and is currently scheduled to arrive
on New Comic Wednesday-020619 with a $3.99 cover price. As always it will be
Alternate Reality "1st Day Sale" priced at 25% OFF ($2.99!) on
the 13th and 15% OFF for the rest of its first week of release ($3.39!) while
supplies last!
