Tom
King is still working on his planned 100-plus issue Batman run but Batman #64-65
list Josh Williamson as the writer. King announced on Twitter that his work on
unnamed television project pulled him away from the series. Batman #64 and #65
and Flash #64-65 are a crossover called The Price, a four-part crossover that
will bring Batman and the Flash together. Williamson will write all four issues
with art from Rafa Sandoval and Guillem March. Chris Burnham will be the cover
artist for the crossover. Williamson says the story takes place The Flash #63,
Flash Annual #2, Heroes in Crisis #4 and Batman #63. Batman and Flash will have
to deal with personal issues and work together on an old case that has reopened.
Barry is still dealing with the death of Wally West and Bruce is dealing with
being abandoned by Catwoman and Nightwing. Barry feels that Bruce failed to
protect Wally but they will have to work together. The story will reintroduce
Gotham Girl and reveal where she has been and why she was seen with Bane in
Batman #50. Williamson and King wanted to team-up and do this crossover earlier
but the schedule just never worked out. King will come back for Batman #66 and
on his Twitter account he gave an outline for what’s left of his 105-issue
Batman run. #61 to 69 will feature a new storyline called Knightmares, which he
described as an "epic arc scraping at the soul of Batman”. #70-74 will be home
to an arc called The Fall and the Fallen, and #75 will kick off "A huge Bat
event with a secret name that sets us up for the end at 105." Frank Miller is
involved at some point but to what level hasn’t been revealed. |
