Glass and Bernard Chang’s Teen Titans run started a new direction in July. The
team roster included: Robin (Damian Wayne), Red Arrow (Emiko Queen) and Kid
Flash (Wallace West), new characters called Djinn (a female genie), Roundhouse
(a bouncing character) and Crush, the daughter of Lobo. The new members came
with mysteries surrounding them and Glass told Newsarama that all will be
resolved. #25 told the origin of Crush and the reveal of who her mother was.
Djinn has dropped hints about how she can’t use her powers in excess or “he”
will find her so we will find out who “he” is while revealing if Damian actually
likes her or is it because of the ring. The idea of Djinn came from the Marv
Wolfman/George Perez run on Teen Titans because they added a magical hero to the
team mix. That run had Garth as comic relief so this team has Roundhouse. He has
a mystery about him as well. And as we have seen in the run so far Damian is
running a secret prison in his attempt to go after the Other. He thinks the only
way to rehabilitate someone is to break them down and so he naturally, goes a
bit beyond. In regards to the Other, he may the evil behind everything we’ve
seen in the DCU or he could be playing us. Glass says he has written quite a few
issues ahead of where some writers would be at so wants readers to expect a lot
of twists and turns coming. |
