All
Elite Wrestling has revealed TNT as their television home. AEW will start
running a weekly show in October. The two-hour show will run live on Tuesday
nights. The deal includes AEW running shows on WarnerMedia’s Bleacher Report
Live service and pay-per-view. The press release pushed that the show and the
organization will offer fans "less scripted, soapy drama, and more athleticism
and real sports analytics, bringing legitimacy to wrestling that it has not
previously had. Wrestlers will also be given more freedom to explore their
characters and highlight their athletic abilities. Introducing statistics to
wrestling for the first time ever, AEW will raise the stakes for its matches and
deepen fan engagement by tracking each competitor’s wins and losses as the
wrestlers pursue championships, analyzing their moves, assessing damage to their
opponents, and providing insights into their winning streaks." The weekly show
will be called by Jim Ross, who has signed a three-year deal to serve as a
Senior Advisor along with working with Alex Marvez and Excalibur. Alicia Atout,
formerly from Impact Wrestling, will be AEW's backstage correspondent and former
WWE talent Justin Roberts will be their ring announcer. The company has hired
Earl Hebner, Aubrey Edwards, Paul Turner, Rick Knox and Bryce Remsburg as the
referee crew. With Double or Nothing in the books AEW’s next big show will be
Fight for the Fallen on 7/16. That card will include Brandi Rhodes vs. Allie,
Dustin and Cody Rhodes vs. Young Bucks and Jon Moxley (the former Dean Ambrose)
vs. somebody. In other AEW news CIMA has signed a full-time contract with AEW. |
