Avengers:
Endgame’s Joe and Anthony Russo are two very busy people these days. Their AGBO
Films will adapt Tim Truman’s Grimjack, produce and maybe direct a live-action
take of Battle of the Planets, and produce a potential live-action spin-off of
their upcoming Magic: The Gathering animated series. The Magic series will run
on Netflix. They company has an adaptation of Electric State, which will be
directed by IT’s Andy Muschietti and the brothers are about to direct a film
called Cherry, an R-rated drama starring Spider-Man’s Tom Holland as a young
army veteran who develops an opioid addiction and takes up bank robbing. And if
that wasn’t enough their production company will co-develop, co-produce and
co-finance a number of projects reviving properties in the MGM library. One such
project is a remake of The Thomas Crown Affair with Michael B. Jordan set to
star. Remakes of The Secret of Nimh, The Pink Panther, Poltergeist and It’s A
Mad Mad Mad Mad World are on their slate. Christopher Markus and Steven McFeely,
who have written most of their Marvel work, are part of that deal.
