TNT, Warner Media, and AEW have renegotiated and signed a new
four-year contract that will keep Dynamite on the station until 2023. The
four-year deal is worth $175 million, for about $45 million per year, and gives
TNT an option for 2024 at a higher price. One byproduct of the deal is a new
hour-long show that will be taped on Wednesdays and run either on TNT on another
night or on another Turner station. The deal will mean that the Wednesday
tapings will expand with the matches taped for the streaming show Dark
continuing and the one-hour show. In other AEW news Taz is officially under
contract with All Elite Wrestling. He made his AEW debut as a guest commentator
on the third episode of AEW Dark back in October and filled in for Tony
Schiavone on the New Year's Day episode of Dynamite. His podcast will go on
hold. AEW also signed Olympic medalist Anthony Ogogo. He won a bronze medal in
the middleweight division at the 2012 Olympics in London and had a professional
boxing record of 11-1.
