Michael Bendis' Wonder Comics imprint releases another book under its imprint
with this weeks limited series on the 80’s hero Amethyst. The series is written
and drawn by Amy Reeder. The Dan Mishkin, Gary Cohn and Ernie Colón creation
made her debut in 1983's Legion of Super-Heroes #298 as an insert comic. Her
first adventure showed Amy Winston discovering that she was the princess of the
House of Amethyst on Gemworld. The new limited series will show Amethyst
returning home to find her subjects are missing and her friends are no longer
loyal to her. In the series Reeder will debut two new teenage characters, Phoss
and Maxixe, who will help Amy on her quest. Reeder decided to both write and
draw the series to challenge to herself by creating a brand new world.
