Ryback was the first to break that he was no longer a part of the WWE. He
announced on his Instagram account that he was done with WWE. He thanked all of
the wrestlers he has been in the ring with, and announced that he is launching a
website and will continue working a full wrestling schedule. His last WWE
appearance was in a match against Kalisto for the United States Championship at
Payback on May 1st. He and the WWE weren’t on the same page about a new contract
and his position on the card. He believed that he should have been one of the
top guys in the company and wanted to be paid for it. On the Raw after Payback
Vince McMahon told him that if he was unhappy he could go home. The day after he
announced he was done the WWE returned the favor and wished him luck on his
future endeavors. He can’t use the name Ryback on the independent circuit and
will just be called The Big Guy. He is now asking for $4,500 for independent
appearances but if he works more than one date for a promotion he will give them
a discount. He is also negotiating with New Japan Pro Wrestling. |
