Star-Lord has a new ongoing series (it was our Book of the Week for the week of 122116) from Chip Zdarsky and Kris Anka. The new series has Peter Quill trapped on Earth instead of flying all over the galaxy with the Guardians who are also Earth bound. The aftermath of Civil War II strands the team on Earth so Quill will operate at least in the first arc in New York City where he will deal with more grounded characters so to speak. He will be looking for connections since the events of Civil War II change the relationships with Kitty Pryde and the other Guardians of the Galaxy. When we first meet Quill he is working as a bartender but in the first issue we found him in trouble with the law. The supporting cast includes Abigail Brand, who is supervising his stay on Earth like an intergalactic parole officer and a senior citizen who Quill hangs out with.
