It was announced a while ago that John Carpenter would return
to the Halloween franchise and serve as an executive producer of the next film.
The film was to come from Blumhouse Productions, the company responsible for the
hit film Get Out. Then we heard nothing. The delay on Halloween Returns was
blamed on not having a clear idea of what the film was supposed to be other than
it would ignore every film after the second one. That changed suddenly when it
was announced that the film would be made under the Vice Principals team of
director David Gordon Green and comedian/actor Danny McBride. The two will write
the film and Green will direct it. The film will take place after the events of
Halloween 2 and as of this moment the decision hasn’t been made whether it will
be a period piece that ignores four and five or just be a continuation of the
story seen in 2. Carpenter is likely to do the score for the October 2018 film. |
