The long awaited adaptation of Stephen King's fantasy novel
saga The Dark Tower is finally happening with the film starring Idris Elba and
Matthew McConaughey. King says the film will use the third book in the series,
The Waste Lands, which laid out of the mythology for the series. The plan all
along was to have a TV show using the characters and that show will use the
fourth novel in the series Wizard and Glass. The TV show will star Elba and
explain how his Gunslinger character ended up on this distant land. Elba will be
seen at the beginning of the show and the end. His character, the Man in Black
and Susan Delgado (Alex McGregor) will be involved in the 10-13 episode series
that doesn’t have a network yet and are said to be the only characters from the
film that have key roles in the prequel story. |
