Kaare Andrews has retuned to the world of Iron Fist with the digital series
Immortal Iron Fists. The series places Danny Rand in the role as the trainer for
the wielder of the Iron Fist. His student is Pei, a young girl monk from
K’un-Lun who finds herself stranded in New York. Andrews is just writing the
series which has art from Afu Chan. He created Pei during his run on Iron Fist:
The Living Weapon. She was created to reverse Danny’s situation. Andrews wanted
to challenge Danny and force him to be more responsible by having to deal with a
young student. The series has two narratives-one shows Pei dealing with going to
public school and the other has Danny investigating a supernatural mystery. The
two stories will connect at some point but as it does we will see the two be
pushed apart and reunited as the book progresses. Andrews will once again use
Detective Li and the dragon Gork while introducing Pei’s classmates and Madam
Yao, the governess hired to help care for Pei. The villain Danny will end up
confronting is a demon from Chinese mythology. Eventually Marvel will release
the series in print form. |
