The
major arc coming up in The Flash is called Flash War. It was set up with The
Flash Annual #1 and Joshua Williamson says the arc will change the landscape of
every Flash seen in the storyline. Barry is dealing with the fact that Iris
learned he had been lying about his life as the Flash and the fact that Kid
Flash was hurt. Barry ended up in Iron Heights but as Flash War starts he has
gotten a lot better. Even with that he is going to have issues with at least one
of the Wally West’s in his life. A lot of the things Williamson has introduced
while working on the title will come to a head once the Perfect Storm arc ends
in April. He always knew where the series was going and enjoyed running into
fans at conventions who wanted to know why some things made sense in previous
arcs and some things didn’t. Williamson wanted to work with Wally West but he
was central to the Titans book so he didn’t have much of a chance to use him. As
he was writing the Running Scared arc he found a way to use Wally and that was
when the idea for Flash War came together. Most of the issues of Flash War will
be drawn by Howard Porter but some will be drawn by Christian Duce. Williamson
says that Flash War introduces a lot of new concepts but bring back some older
Flash mythology as well. Once the arc is over then it will influence the issues
that follow and the rest of the DCU. |
