The fight between Matt Hardy and Impact Wrestling
is finally over. The fight was over who actually owned the Broken gimmick used
by Hardy, his wife Reby, and his brother Jeff while they worked at Impact. The
Hardy's paid for all the video packages used and wrote most if not all of the
material but Impact Wrestling claimed
ownership of the gimmick. That meant the Hardy's couldn’t use the gimmick in
their brief time at Ring of Honor. In November Matt and Anthem President Ed
Nordholm worked out a deal but the WWE decided to create the Woken gimmick so
they could own it. Anthem has now signed over ownership of the gimmick Matt
Hardy. WWE may just let Matt keep using the Woken gimmick but since Jeremy
Borash has left Impact Wrestling to join the WWE they may change their minds.
Borash was a major part of the Broken Hardy's gimmick. Besides, if Matt leaves
WWE he can take the gimmick anywhere he wants and I don’t think WWE wants that. |
