All the news so far on the DC films planned and in production: the only DC film that will be out this year is Aquaman…Warners wants Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation’s Christopher McQuarrie to direct the Green Lantern Corps film. The film would have Hal Jordan mentoring a young John Stewart…the Flashpoint film will be directed by Game Night’s John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein…according to Joe Morton the Cyborg solo film is still happening…Arrow’s Greg Berlanti says the Booster Gold adaptation is still in development…the untitled Joker origin movie from The Hangover’s Todd Phillips and Martin Scorsese will use Alan Moore’s The Killing Joke for source material. Rumors have Joaquin Phoenix starring but he says he doesn’t have any idea where that rumor came from…Saturday Night Live’s Kristen Wiig will play the villain Cheetah in Wonder Woman 2. Emma Stone turned down the part…Henry Cavill is willing to extend his contract since he only has one film left on his original deal…even though Joss Whedon walked away from the planned Batgirl film Warners still wants to make the film. Whedon dropped out because he couldn’t get the story right…we may see the Question in future DCU films…David Ayer says Gotham City Sirens is still in development so don’t expect it for a while…Ben Affleck still isn’t sure if he wants to star in Matt Reeves’ The Batman but would be willing to direct a Batman film…Walking Dead’s Cooper Andrews has joined the Shazam film…Wrinkle In Time’s Ava DuVernay will direct an adaptation of Jack Kirby’s The New Gods.
