 The
Crown’s Claire Foy is the new actress taking on the role of The Girl with the
Dragon Tattoo hacker Lisbeth Salander in The Girl in the Spider’s Web at Sony
Pictures. The film will be directed by Don’t Breathe’s Fede Alvarez and is based
on David Lagercrantz’s follow-up novel to Stieg Larsson’s original trilogy.
Lisbeth Salander has been played by Noomi Rapace and Rooney Mara. Her co-star in
the film is Borg/McEnroe’s Sverrir Gudnason, who will play journalist Mikael
Blomquist. The film will also star Blade Runner 2049’s Sylvia Hoeks as
Salander’s twin sister Camilla, Mindhunter’s Cameron Britton and Get Out’s
Lakeith Stanfield. The film will be released in October and if it is a hit then
the other books using the Salander/Blomkvist characters will be adapted. |
