DISCOVERY TO CONFRONT CANON ISSUES

Definitely No Kelvin Timeline Taste or Smell |
Star
Trek: Discovery was a hit but some fans complained it didn’t seem to fit into
existing Star Trek continuity. The producers did make it clear the show is set
in the Prime Universe like all of Trek series seen before 2009 and not in the
Kelvin Timeline of the films established in the JJ Abrams films. That didn’t
explain how Burnham is Spock’s half-sister and the Discovery having a spore
drive which hasn’t been seen or even mentioned before. Producer Aaron Harberts
told Metro UK that a major part of season two will deal with the differences
seen in a show that takes place ten years before the original series happened.
Season two will not be a war season and deal with the issue of science vs.
faith. It will add to the cast Hell on Wheels’ Anson Mount as U.S.S. Enterprise
Captain Christopher Pike. |
