Jurassic World was the fourth film in the
Jurassic Park series but it was also a reboot. The sequel Jurassic World: Fallen
Kingdom will serve to tweak Jurassic World a bit to make it clear that World was
the first part of a trilogy with Kingdom as the dark middle chapter. Colin Trevorrow, who directed World but handed over the reins to J.A. Bayona for the
sequel but produce and co-write the new film with Derek Connolly to set up the
next film. He wants fans to know that the second film isn’t a remake of The Lost
World: Jurassic Park and once fans have seen the film that will be made clear.
World shows how greed makes people do stupid things but Kingdom will show that
the new dinosaurs will have to be cared for and show Chris Pratt and Bryce
Dallas Howard returning to the island to save the remaining dinosaurs from an
extinction-level event. Trevorrow will return to write and direct Jurassic World
3 with help from Pacific Rim: Uprising’s Emily Carmichael. The third film is
likely to be released in the summer of 2021. |
