Right after Khabib Nurmagomedov submitted Conor McGregor to retain his UFC lightweight championship on 10/6 in Las Vegas he climbed the cage and charged at Dillon Danis – McGregor’s jujitsu coach. All hell broke loose from there after several of Nurmagomedov’s team members entered the Octagon and charged McGregor and punched him. The fight should have launched Nurmagomedov to another level but with the chaos after the fight it just makes him look bad. According to UFC President Dana White three members of Nurmagomedov’s team were arrested then released when McGregor decided not to press charges. Nurmagomedov isn’t sorry about anything that happened and told reporters that McGregor’s trash talk leading up to the match was over the line. McGregor didn’t talk to the media after the fight but did talk to Nevada State Athletic Commission personnel who gave him the money he was promised for the fight. Nurmagedov’s earnings are being withheld. White told the press that a long suspension by the Nevada State Athletic Commission was possible and if that happens then Nurmagomedov could be stripped of the lightweight title. He also said the two members of Nurmagomedov's team that jumped in the cage that are currently on the UFC roster will never fight in the promotion again.
