 xXx: Return of Xander Cage’s F. Scott Frazier is the latest writer to try to
adapt the Gears of War game into a film…The Walking Dead’s Robert Kirkman has
developed 5 Year, a new project that has officially been picked up by Skybound
Entertainment and eOne with plans to develop it as a series. The series will
follow various regions of the Earth in the final five years before a fatal
meteor is set to crash into the planet…FOX is developing neXt, an A.I. thriller
drama from 24: Legacy’s Manny Coto, John Requa and Glenn Ficarra. The series
would be grounded in the latest A.I. research and features a brilliant but
paranoid former tech CEO who joins a Homeland Cybersecurity Agent and her team
to stop a terrifying A.I. outbreak that threatens us all. FOX is also developing
a female-centric Texas Rangers drama and a half-hour animated comedy called
Buffalo Wings. FX has begun development of Piety from Preacher’s Wes Brown and
Legion’s Noah Hawley. The story is set in and around a cult in the American
West…the World War Z sequel is expected to start filming in June after David
Fincher finishes season two of Mindhunter and Brad Pitt finishes Tarantino’s
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. |
