Keanu
Reeves has had an interesting career. He has done films in multiple genres,
starred in a series of major flops and come back from the dead with the success
of John Wick. But one decision almost cost him everything, passing on Speed 2:
Cruise Control. He had a huge hit with the first film but when 20th Century Fox
offered him the sequel he turned it down to do a stage production of Hamlet in
Winnipeg. From anyone who saw Cruise Control he was right to pass but Reeves
says doing it Fox effectively blacklisted him for 10 years. Even when The Matrix
trilogy and films like Devil’s Advocate made tons of money at other studios they
wouldn’t hire him until 2008’s The Day the Earth Stood Still remake.
