Robert E Howard's, Conan the Barbarian, is now a major part of
the Marvel Universe. This month, two more of his creations will join him in the MCU: Solomon Kane and Dark Agnes.
Kane has seen a few mini-series over the years but Agnes has never been adapted to comics. The two
will debut in Conan: Serpent War, a four issue limited series from Jim Zub, Scot
Eaton and Stephen Segovia which is currently on the racks. The time travel story will have the two join ranks
with Conan and Moon Knight to battle the evil Elder God, Set. Zub is a huge
Conan fan so he wanted to reintroduce Kane and introduce Agnes to Marvel. The
limited series will also feature the little used Howard character James Allison. One thing that will
be pushed is the difference between Kane, who believes in absolutes and Moon
Knight, who speaks directly to his god. In this limited series Kane will not
have the Staff of Solomon but Zub does want to use the artifact at some point in
another Kane project. As for Agnes since she only appeared in two stories, Zub
will fill out her back story as she tries to work alongside Conan, who has no
idea how she brings up a killing desire when threatened. Moon Knight will follow
the end of the Max Bemis run and have him in a better place mentally before
being drawn into this conflict. Now for you continuity buffs this story will
take place after the Conan story God in the Bowl so he will not be the person
seen in the Savage Avengers book.
