| Changes Due to the Virus and Our New "Virus Free" Greeting | ||||||||||
The spread of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is on all our minds and constantly
in the news. Sports events are cancelled, Wrestling Matches are happening in
empty arenas and Bars and Restaurants are closed. As each day goes by the
Covid-19 virus affects more individuals and businesses alike.Alternate Reality is responding to this Health Threat with some changes of our own to help protect our customers, and check the virus spread. These changes are being adapted immediately by us and include…. STORE HOURS: We are shortening our store hours to help minimize the potential spread of Covid-19 in our community. As of this writing (031620) our NEW STORE HOURS are: Monday: CLOSED Tuesday: 2:00PM to 7:00PM Wednesday: 7:00AM to 7:00PM Thursday: Noon to 7:00PM Friday: Noon to 7:00PM Saturday: 11:00AM to 6:00PM Sunday: Noon to 5:00PM Actual open/close time changes are noted in RED above. These changed hours may again be subject to change again based on events as they unfold over the next few weeks. Stay tuned. CLEANING: We actually started this days ago. Each day the stores counter, showcase tops and door handles are being cleaned when we open in an effort to help slow the spread of the virus. Alternate Reality is a 3200 square foot superstore and it’s impossible to clean all surfaces, but we are trying to keep the most touched surfaces clean everyday. Please only handle or touch something if you truly are interested in purchasing it. Additionally, there will be a bottle of hand sanitizer at the counter for our customers use; we encourage you to take advantage of it. WHAT YOU CAN DO: The following precautions are good to keep in mind wherever you may go… -Please do not come into the store or just go out your front door if you are sick, not just for your own sake but for the safety and protection of everyone. -Social Distancing, while shopping we encourage you to maintain three to six feet between yourself and others. That may be difficult in some sections of the store so please be patient if someone is already in an area you want to explore. It really is a big store and if the Marvel room is occupied consider checking out the DC’s, supplies, the Kids Corner or another unoccupied area. FINALLY: If you can't make it in, please call or message us and we will work to hold what you would like until you can pick it up. Paying over the phone with a credit card is also always an option; we can hold something indefinitely if you do this (24 hours without a payment-unless you are an ARSS Subscriber). We want to do our part to help minimize any potential spread of Coved-19 in the 19th Ward and surrounding suburbs. This is a constantly evolving situation, and we should all continue to monitor it by listening to our local governments, the CDC, the WHO and of course the News. Please stay safe. Wash, wash and wash your hands often with soap and hot water and try to keep your fingers away from your face. We can all beat this together!
