We're Closed, Diamond's Shut Down-What are the Comic
Companies up to? |
Multiple
publishers have come up with plans to deal with the ongoing coronavirus problem.
Here is what we know so far: Marvel is offering retailers deep discounts until
4/8; Devil's Due Comics made its entire digital library free to download;
AfterShock Comics has delayed shipments of its upcoming titles; Dynamite will
only release six books in July and take any returns customers and retailers
might have for the next month. All of their omnibus offerings will be available
for retailers at huge discounts. Aspen has suspended all titles until June.
Image will make a lot of upcoming product fully returnable. The company has
cancelled all upcoming second printings and reprints. They will also tweak their
release dates so stores will not be flooded with new comics. There has been no
word on what DC will do as of this writing. There was a rumor that Free Comic
Book Day was going to become Free Comic Book Month in May but now FCBD will be
pushed to later in the summer. And on the convention front for now both
WonderCon and Comic-Con International: San Diego will happen as scheduled.
WonderCon is in April and SDCC won't take place until July.
