According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, former ECW announcer and Vice President of
Digital Media Content Joey Styles is no longer with WWE. His release came after
a Facebook Q&A where Styles provided some controversial answers. When asked by a
fan: “Why has WWE tried so hard to shove Roman Reigns down our throats as a
babyface for so long?” Styles replied: “Bottom line is, if our chairman thinks
he sees a future star as a babyface, that’s how things are going to play out…But
the answer is Vince thinks it can work. He’s been right much, much, much, much,
much more than wrong over the course of the last 40 years. I’m sorry, but I’m
not going to second-guess the chairman.” He is now available for independent
appearances but isn’t taking bookings for interviews, podcasts or announcing. |
