When FOX announced it's 2016-17 schedule there was no mention of additional
episodes of The X-Files. FOX chairman/CEO Dana Walden says that talks are
ongoing about another season. He revealed: "I believe everyone is on board to do
another installment of the show...hopefully, this time next year we will have
more news". That suggests that another season wouldn’t happen until late 2017 or
early 2018. Chris Carter, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are all willing to
return. Duchovny believes that the revival of the series needed more episodes.
He told TV Insider: "I think there were too few episodes. Twenty-two is far too
many, but six is too few, so we've got to figure out something right in
between." |
