FUNK LIVES Posted: 102016
There was a scare involving wrestling legend Terry Funk last month. After making a speech at an event in Philadelphia in which he said he didn't want to leave the ring because it may be for the last time everyone got concerned about him. Funk reported that after getting home his daughter called up and asked him if he was dead because of all the stories. He underwent surgery for an inguinal hernia on 9/12 and was supposed to rest in bed for a couple of weeks but he didn't want to miss his bookings for Tommy Dreamer's House of Hardcore shows. Funk got up at 4 a.m. that Friday, flew into LaGuardia Airport and appeared at the NY show. He then drove to Philadelphia and went to sleep at 4 a.m. that Saturday morning. Funk signed autographs all day at the convention in Philadelphia and by the time the show was supposed to start that night he was exhausted. The plan was for him to be in Dreamer's corner for the main event against Matt Hardy but since that would involve him doing something physical he asked Dreamer if he could leave early and did the interview before taking a flight home. Funk has been resting at home ever since.
