Legion has come to FX courtesy of Fargo’s Noah Hawley and he says not to expect it to look like any other TV show based on a Marvel property. For one, the idea for the show came from FX and will have no connection with any other Marvel show. Hawley did talk to Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb to get some advice but Marvel will be very hands off. As we saw in its debut we will be in the mind of David Haller and at times we will not be sure whether he is telling us the truth. Back when Legion was announced Fox also said they were going to produce an X-Men series called Hellfire that would have dealt with the Hellfire Club. That show was to have been created by 24’s Evan Katz and Manny Coto but they left to work on 24: Legacy. Fox approved the move when Hellfire developed problems in pre-production. Currently Hellfire is shelved in favor of an untitled project from Burn Notice creator Matt Nix, his show will center on two ordinary parents who discover their children have mutant powers and have to go on the run from the government. We will see some established X-Men characters in the series but the focus will be on the new ones. Nix says that the family will join with an underground network of mutants so that they can survive. If the show is picked up each season will run about 10-13 episodes and the Sentinels will be a part of the show. The two shows will never crossover.
