Mark
Millar and John Romita Jr.’s Kick-Ass will return in 2018 but the new home for
the property is Image and not Marvel’s Icon imprint. The new series will have
Dave Lizewski give up the role to a black female army veteran named Patience
Lee, who is also the mother of young children. The location of the series will
change as well with Lee living in New Mexico instead of New York. The series
will have a companion in an all new Hit-Girl ongoing. Millar and Ricardo Lopez
Ortiz will team on the first arc. Kevin Smith will write the series’ second arc
and another writer will take over for each arc. Each arc will take place in a
different country. Peter Milligan and Daniel Way will write future arcs and
artists signed up for the book include Frank Quitely, Rafael Albuquerque, Pete
Milligan, Eduardo Risso and a new Asian artist named Kim Jung Gi. Millar says
there is no crossover planned for the characters. |
