In the Fire From Heaven arc of Royals Al Ewing and
Javier Rodriguez are telling of an encounter between the former Inhuman Royal
family and an undiscovered race. That race may hold the key to a cure of the
disease that is killing Medusa and provide a replacement to the Terrigen mists
that creates new Inhumans. One problem-that race is the Progenitors, who helped
create them and they aren’t willing to help them. The solution came in
Royals #12, the last issue of the series which returned the Inhumans to Earth
and left one of them dead. In January Ewing and Mike del Mundo will end the
Inhumans saga as we know it with the one-shot Inhumans: Judgment Day. Ewing
created the Progenitors with the idea of creating a new alien race but wanted
them to be very different so he has them talk in a way that’s very awkward. Fire
From Heaven has a back story is showing a developing relationship between Medusa
and Gorgon who may be becoming more than friends. Ewing knows that Black Bolt
will learn of it and that story will be worked out in the one shot. Royals #11
will reveal who dies and #12 will
deal with the fallout and end the 5,000 years in the future plot line. Ewing
says Judgment Day will show the space bound Inhumans, Black Bolt and some fan
favorite Earth-based Inhumans that he used in Inhumans Prime. The one shot will
wrap up years of Inhumans stories and set them up in a place where they could go
anywhere. |
